Don't look now but the Bulldog volleyball team is making huge strides. We have won 4 in a row looking to win 5 tonight at Deubrook. The Bulldogs beat Flandreau last night by scores of 25-20, 25-21, and 25-22. The Bulldogs were led by Shelby Dosch who Had 7 Kills, 10 digs, 2 ace serves and 7 set assists. Elyssa Clark had 6 Kills, 2 ace serves and 19 digs. Amber Hartman led the team with 12 set assists. It was about sending our seniors off the right way. It was senior night and we recognized two outstanding seniors. Kierstin Bentliff and Kelsey Keating both have helped be leaders for our young team. We want to wish them well in all they do.
Baltic's travel to white to play Deubrook tonight to end the season. We are working hard to get a home region game next week. So we have a lot to play for as this is our last game.
We also want to take a moment to congratulate Coach Baskerville the other coaches and players on a good Football season. Way to work hard and make us proud!!
What a game!! We came out and played really well beating them in game 1 25-23. The team responded very well to playing a good opponent. We played together through the ups and downs and were very smart. Put players in position to hit the open spots. We were aggressive and attacked them. We played a complete game in game 1. Game 2 we played well but made a few to many mistakes. The girls fought and stayed together throughout game two and competed. In games 3 and 4 they took it to us and outplayed us. We didn't make the plays we were in games one and two. We were just a little off. Our energy was down but the thing I admire the most about this team is the never quit attitude. They fight to the end.
Our next game is Thursday night at Volga. We take on Sioux Valley at 6:15.
This has been a busy week for the Bulldog volleyball team. We lost to McCook in 3 but had some really good moments. This team is getting better all the time and with the effort, they put in we will continue getting better. Then on Tuesday night, we beat Alcester-Hudson in 3. We really had all phases working and looking very good as a team. Hitting was the real strength for us. I was very pleased with our passers as the night before we struggled. We really stepped up against Alcester-Hudson. Very happy with the team.
We play Thursday night in Hurley. It should be a good game. I'm excited to get back on the court with this team to see how we play. "Make it happen"
The girls were able to pull one out. They really played hard and earned this win. We lost the first and then won the next two before losing game 4. We had a 21-15 lead and couldn't finish. Losing 27-25 before winning game 5 by the score of 15 - 9. This is just a young team who still is learning to play together. They work very hard and are getting better every day as they go through this they are growing as individuals and a team. I'm so proud of the no-quit attitude and effort they give each other every day. This team is also getting healthy as well. We had some key players injured and they are now getting healthy. We are working them back into game action.
Next game is Monday, October 1 in Baltic. We play McCook, who is a very good team. I'm excited to have this team play them and they are looking forward to the challenge. Then on Tuesday is our think pink event. Please come out and cheer us on as we play Alcester Hudson. We are playing for Joni Lambert who is fighting Cancer. Please come and help us support her and everyone who is fighting this awful disease. Look forward to seeing you at the game.
