Madison High School plans to Livestream both gymnasiums at this weekend’s Dak XII-NEC Clash.

The livestreams will include a scoreboard, game clock and shot clock on it. Audio may be supplied by radio stations covering the game, but is not guaranteed. Actually, we are dealing with technology, so I really can’t guarantee anything!
Here is a brief update of our last two games:
Propelled by a quick start, the Quarriers defeated Madison last Thursday night 68-65 in a big Dak XII conference rivalry game. The Quarriers jumped out to a 10-0 lead and withstood a Bulldog rally to maintain the lead from start to finish. All five starters scored in double figures: Colin Rentz led the team with 19 points, Logan Ellingson tallied 16, Logan Heim scored 12, Connor Rentz had 11, and Drew Van Regenmorter finished with 10. Heim hauled in a game high 17 rebounds and Van Regenmorter grabbed 9, and Colin Rentz handed out 7 assists for team high honors. The Quarrier freshman team secured an exciting overtime victory over the Bulldogs, and the JV dropped a tightly-contested game against the Bulldogs.
On Saturday, the Quarriers tamed the Huskies of Elk Point-Jefferson 68-40. Drew Van Regenmorter led three double figure scorers for the Quarriers with 14 points, and Logan Heim and Karsen Welbig scored 10 each. Heim secured another double-double as he finished with 17 rebounds, and Van Regenmorter had 3 assists and 3 steals for team high honors. Both the freshman and JV teams secured big victories as the home team, boys and girls, went 6-0 on the evening!
The Quarriers, now 6-3 on the season, will travel to Vermillion on Thursday for a doubleheader.
The Quarriers defeated Baltic 61-40 on Tuesday, Dec. 18, behind a strong defensive effort. Connor Rentz fired in 20 points to lead the team, and Logan Ellingson tallied 13 points. Drew Van Regenmorter filled the stat sheet with 10 points, 15 rebounds, and 7 assists, and Logan Heim grabbed 10 rebounds for the Quarriers. The JV and freshman teams also secured big victories as the Quarrier boys and girls teams completed the five game sweep on the evening.
On Dec. 29, the Quarriers travelled to Brookings for the 25th Annual Michael Entringer Scholarship Classic. Behind a strong second half defensive effort, the Quarriers defeated Sioux Valley 72-60. Drew Van Regenmorter took home game MVP honors as he filled the stat sheet with 15 points, 14 rebounds, 6 assists, and 2 steals; Logan Heim also finished with a double-double of 11 points and 19 rebounds. Logan Ellingson led the Quarriers in scoring with 22 points on an efficient 11-17 shooting percentage. Connor Rentz finished in double figures with 11 points, and Colin Rentz tallied 9 points and 6 assists. The Quarriers shot 54% as a team from the field and attacked the basket well all night.
We kicked off our season at home last Friday night against conference rival West Central. Here is a rundown of our results from Friday night.
The Quarrier freshman team secured a 50-40 victory over a big West Central team Friday night. Alex Anderson and Victor Knuppe scored 12 points each to lead the team, and four other players scored six points each in a balanced effort.
The Dells JV started the season with a 53-47 comeback win over West Central on Friday night. They started slow in the first quarter with only scoring 4 points and were down 22-15 at the half. They responded with an electrifying 3rd quarter where they outscored their opponents 20-9 to take a 35-31 lead. The Quarriers were led in scoring by Avery Boechler with 11 points, Carter Nelson 10, Coby Maeschen 9, and Alex Anderson 8.
The Quarriers dropped a closely contested season opening game against West Central 54-50 last Friday night. Logan Ellingson scored 16 points to lead the team, and Connor Rentz chipped in with 11 points. Logan Heim hauled in 13 rebounds and Drew Van Regenmorter grabbed 11 for the Quarriers, who will travel to top ranked Tea Friday night.
